How long would it take to drive from Lower Manhattan to JFK Airport
Monday, June 1st, 2009Specifically, how long would it take to drive from Lower manhattan (Greenwich Village area) to JFK airport on a weeknight around or after midnight? What kind of traffic should I expect to encounter?
I would give yourself an hour but you will probably be there in 20-30 minutes. Traffic shouldn’t be a problem.

Yangie, there is no sense for you to drive from the Village to JFK. Take a cab to Penn Station and any eastbound LIRR, except the Port Washington Branch from Penn Station to Jamaica.
Once at Jamaica, transfer to the Airtrain, which will take you from there to all the terminal.
The one way off peak fare on the LIRR will cost you $5.25 and the fare on the Airtrain is $5.
